AI Readiness is not a second score. It is the current state of your store inside the AI Commerce Score: what AI can already discover and understand, and exactly where it stalls before it will verify, match, or recommend you.

This is what AI currently sees for a store scoring 45/100. Verify is the blocking stage. Everything downstream depends on clearing it first.
Definition
AI Readiness describes the current state of a store inside the AI Commerce Score measurement system: which stages of the AI decision path it has already cleared, and which single stage is currently blocking it. It is not a separate 0-100 score sitting next to AI Commerce Score. The number is the AI Commerce Score. AI Readiness is the readable state behind that number.
Why this distinction matters: a store can quote its "AI Readiness" and its "AI Commerce Score" as two different numbers only if someone invented a second measurement system. Atom Foundry uses one 0-100 score, built from the same 8 weighted factors, read through five different lenses depending on what you're asking:

The AI Readiness Journey
The same 8 factors, grouped by what they actually decide. The order matters: a store cannot skip a blocked stage on the way to being recommended.
DiscoverCan AI find your store at all?Cleared
Determined by Core Technical & Interpretability: crawlability, rendering, robots access. This store passes: its pages are reachable and readable by AI crawlers.
UnderstandCan AI parse what you actually sell?Cleared
Determined by Semantic Visuals and AI Structured Signals: whether product meaning is machine-legible, not just human-legible. This store passes: category, attributes, and use case all parse cleanly.
VerifyCan AI confirm you're trustworthy?Blocking
Determined by AI Trust & Transaction Confidence: machine-readable proof, not a five-star badge. This store fails here: reviews and policies exist for humans but aren't confirmable by AI. See AI Trust Confidence.
MatchCan AI match you to a buyer's specific intent?Partial
Determined by User Intent Match: whether copy answers a specific request or only a generic category. Partial because Verify hasn't cleared yet; intent-matching can't fully count until trust does.
RecommendWill AI actually recommend you?Not yet
The combined outcome of Commerce & Feed Accuracy, Recommendation Confidence, and External Authority. Not yet reachable while Verify remains blocked. This is the downstream stage, not an independent one.

Where does your store sit?
Every bar is a decile of AI Commerce Score across every store Atom Foundry has scanned. Most stores cluster in the same narrow band, just below the line that separates being mentioned from being skipped.

The confidence line
The four zones AI Commerce Score sorts every store into. The dashed line at 50 is the confidence line: below it, AI treats a store as too unverified to route a buyer toward at all.

Score → Revenue
Readiness doesn't convert to revenue through a fixed formula. It moves a store through a sequence of gates: each one either opens or it doesn't.

Illustrative sequence. Atom Foundry does not publish a dollar-per-point conversion, because none exists across categories, price points, or AI surfaces.
FAQ
AI Readiness: common questions
Is AI Readiness the same thing as my AI Commerce Score?
No. AI Commerce Score is the single 0-100 number. AI Readiness is the readable state behind that number: which stages of the AI decision path (Discover, Understand, Verify, Match, Recommend) your store has cleared right now.
Why not just call it a second score?
Because it would create exactly the terminology confusion Atom Foundry is trying to avoid. One store should never have two different 0-100 numbers claiming to measure the same thing. The score is the AI Commerce Score. Readiness is the state.
What does it mean if my store is stuck at "Verify"?
It means AI can find and understand your store, but cannot confirm enough about it (trust signals, policies, identity) to move you toward Match or Recommend. Verify blocks everything downstream of it.
Can a store skip a stage, like going straight to Recommend without Verify?
No. The stages are sequential because the underlying factors are weighted that way: Recommendation Confidence and External Authority (which feed Recommend) are measured on top of a store that has already cleared Verify, not instead of it.
